Fripp Island near Hilton Head
Named after Captain Johannes Fripp, Fripp Island is a 3000-acre barrier island
near Beaufort. Captain Fripp once searched for buried treasure here calling the island
a "private world of beauty. Today, Fripp Island contains over 1400 homes and villas
that catch the Atlantic sunrise each morning.
Fripp Island has villas, beach houses, and sophisticated marsh side homes that share golf courses, tennis courts, a deepwater marina and a 31/2 mile Atlantic shoreline. Fripp Island also holds Ocean Creek, one of the world's most fertile and pristine salt marshes.
Fripp Island is only about fifteen minutes from historic downtown Beaufort. A half mile bridge joins the island to the mainland. Fripp Island is gated and secured allowing its visitors to enjoy a secluded and naturally exquisite environment.
There are shops, dining areas, fine restaurants, grocery store, and other amenities allowing residents to rarely have to leave.
